MARTIN’S Top Deals for the Week of February 20th

My girls were so excited when they saw the strawberries on the front page of this week’s ad.  They asked, “Mom if strawberries are on sale this week, can you please buy some for us?”  I don’t know if it is good or bad that they have learned that items generally have to be on sale for me to buy them.  I was excited to see the Whole Eye Round Roast on sale again.  This is a sale that MARTIN’S seem to be running about every 6-8 weeks.  I have bought it when it goes on sale and ground my own ground beef (with the meat grinder attachment on my KitchenAid stand mixer).  I asked one of the butchers in the meat department about how lean that would make my ground beef.  He told me that it would be about the equivalent of 93-95% lean ground beef.  That makes it a really great price – I can’t find 93% lean hamburger for $1.99/lb.
