Potential for free gas and inexpensive items at MARTIN’S

Did you see this towards the bottom of the back page?

In Richmond our fuel program is a little different than those of you outside of Richmond.  We have a limit of 20 gallons of gas per fuelperks! fill up.  (We also call it fuelperks!)  If you live outside of Richmond you can get an even better deal because you can get up to 30 gallons of gas per fill up.  That means the most I can save when I calculate my fuel savings from the total amount spent on an item is $4, but it is $6 for you lucky 30 gallon people.

There were lots of coupons in the 8/21 SmartSource insert that can help you get free gas and inexpensive household products.  (Please note that you still will have to make a minimum payment when you go to cash out your fuelperks!  I had to pay a little over $2 when I got the full 20 gallons with the balance of my fuelperks!.)

I did 2 other Fuel Perks things this week: 1. The Magnum ice cream bars are on sale for $2.00, minus $1/1 coupon from 7/31 RP, = $1 each. You get $4 Fuelperks when you buy 5, so it ends up being .20 cents per box.

Also, the Valley Fresh 12.5 oz canned chicken is on sale for $2.00/can. There is no coupon, but you get $4 Fuel Perks when you buy 6, so I figure $8 out of pocket for 4.5 lbs of canned chicken isn't bad. Plus, it will come in handy this weekend for the hurricane party! :O)

Lissa - the ad says the Magnum ice cream bars are 2/$6 - are they really only $2 each?

You are right some canned chicken may not be a bad thing to have on hand just in case of a power outage for a few days - or to donate to the food bank if you don't want them all.

You're totally right~ they're $3. I must have had the post-coupon price in my head! Sorry about that! :O)

That still makes them $1.20 after sale, coupon, and fuel discount - which is a big savings based on the regular price of $3.69 a box. Thanks for the tip!
