Double Coupon Wednesday at Ukrop's

Don't forget that tomorrow is double coupon day at Ukrop's.  They will double any manufacturer's coupon up to a face value of $0.99.  I have a complete list of deals from this week's ad in a previous post that you can find here.   Don't forget that the first wave of conversions of Ukrop's stores to MARTIN'S stores begins this Saturday so if your store is in the first wave you may be able to find some really great markdowns on Food Club, Full Circle, and Joe's Market items.  Here is a list that I found and posted so you can find out when your store is slated for remodel.

Happy Shopping!

More Rebate Checks!!!!

I recently received three more rebate checks in the mail.  I wanted to give you an update on the ones I had received and how easy they have been to submit and even easier to cash!

I received a $10 rebate check from Coors.  My friend Judi had given me a rebate form that she found at Kroger for a $10 rebate for purchasing $100 or more in gift cards.  I had several receipts that were easy to find and submit from where I had purchased gift cards as Christmas presents.  I had already purchased the gift cards so getting a rebate was a little present for me.  Thanks Judi!!!!!

I received a $15 check from Olay for purchasing 3 body washes.  I actually came out ahead with this deal.  When I made the purchase there was a Register Rewards (RR) promo at Walgreens. I bought a Gillete Embrace Razor (which generated a $4 RR) for $8.99.  I had a coupon for $2 off the razor and another coupon for a free Olay body wash when you buy a Gillette Embrace Razor.  I ended up with 3 razors and 3 body washes for $20.97, I earned $12 in RR, and I got a $15 rebate check from Olay.  The way I see it I actually earned $6.03!

I also got a rebate check from Schick for purchasing a Schick Quattro Razor for Steve.  The rebate was good for the full purchase price up to $11.99.  I found the razor at Walgreens for $9.99 and it was generating a $4 RR.  I submitted my receipt showing the purchase price of $9.99.  I received a check for $9.99 in addition to the $4 RR I got when I purchased the razor.  I earned $13.99 just for buying Steve a razor!

I have really changed my attitude about rebates being too difficult and time consuming.  I have 3 checks totaling $34.99 to take to the bank.  I don’t think that is too bad for buying a few toiletry items and filling out a few forms.

How about you - have you been successful with submitting rebates?  Do you find them easy to submit and even more exciting when you get a check in the mail?

Ukrop’s Deals and Coupon Match-ups March 29 – April 3

ukropslogo

I was so excited when I looked at this week’s Ukrop’s ad.  I was really hoping for a good ad with some great deals with Easter next week.  I think I am most excited about getting free Breakstone sour cream and free Band-Aids on double coupon Wednesday.  I had just mentioned to Steve Friday night that I was hoping for a sour cream sale in the next week because I was down to only one unopened container in the stockpile refrigerator and one opened one in my kitchen refrigerator.  (Yes- I have two full size refrigerators and a deep freeze.)

There really are some good deals this week without coupons, but some great deals with coupons!  Feel free to check out an on-line version of the ad here.  In an effort to keep this post from being too long I am only listing the items that have coupons in the spreadsheet.  I do want to encourage you to check out the great meat specials they have this week along with the Spring produce on sale – like strawberries and asparagus.

There is also two coupons in this week’s ad.  The first in on the front page and will give you and additional $0.30 per gallon towards your fuelperks! account when you spend $50 or more in one transaction.  (In order to qualify for this you have to spend $50 after sales and coupons and before tax.  This can only be redeemed once per household this week.)  The other coupon is found on page 4 for $2 off any 3 card purchase.  The cards must be $1.99 or higher to qualify.  I see it as buy 2 cards get 1 free.

I have had several posts where I have mentioned current multi-week deals.  Here are some of the highlights and the links to these posts for the coupons match-ups.

Here are some guidelines for using coupons at Ukrop’s:

  • Ukrop’s will double manufacturer coupons up to $0.99 on Wednesdays only.
  • Ukrop’s will not double more than 5 like coupons per transaction.
  • Ukrop’s does accept internet printable (IP) coupons up to a face value of $2.  They do not accept IP coupons for a free item.  This includes buy 1 get 1 free.

Coupons that will double in Wednesday are in red.

Updated info on Multi-week Ukrop’s deals

I ran into Ukrop’s late tonight and checked on a few multi-week deals while I was picking up some Barilla pasta for $0.33.  (I got the coupons I ordered off ebay for $1/2 Barilla Piccolini Pastas.)

Here is what I found out or was able to clarify:

    • The Dole canned fruit that I first mentioned in this post is on multi-week deal for $1 until 4/17.  (I don’t know how stores that close for remodeling before this date will handle this.)  Don’t forget to use your $0.55 off coupon from the 3/21 SS to get canned fruit for $0.45 a can.
    • I got a tip from Maria in the comments section of my post that the Ronzoni Smart Taste Pasta and the Ronzoni Healthy Harvest Pasta is now on an everyday price for $1.25.  If you combine this with the coupons that I mentioned in this post you will get it for FREE on Wednesday with a possible overage!

Free Pasta at Kroger this week!

I know you think I have totally lost it if I am promoting Kroger, but this is a deal that will cause me to make another Kroger run this week.  I just read on Money Saving Mom that there are 3 different internet printable coupons for $0.75 off Ronzoni Smart Taste Pasta.  This pasta is included in the mega sale this week at Kroger.  It is $0.99 or $0.49 after you buy 8 participating items.  That means free plus a possible overage!

Here are the links to the coupons - I was able to print each of them twice from the same computer.

Wednesday Shopping Trip – Ukrop’s Double Coupons Part II

I ran by the Ukrop’s a few minutes from our church on the way home tonight and found the mandarin oranges I was looking for earlier today.  They had 10 cans on the shelf and I had 5 coupons for $0.55/2 so it was perfect.  I didn’t really feel like taking a picture of just canned fruit, but imagine 10 cans of mandarin oranges sitting on my kitchen table.  :)

    Here is the breakdown :

    (10) Dole Mandarin Oranges - $0.45 each

Shelf Price (before sales, coupons, or tax): $17.90

Final Price (after sales, coupons, before tax): $4.50

    Total Savings: $13.40 (75%)

It was well worth visiting another Ukrop’s today to score that deal.

Wednesday Shopping Trip – Kroger deals

I went to Kroger again this week.  That makes two weeks in a row for me!  I once again saw some deals that made it worth my while to go there.  I have to admit that although they only double manufacturer coupons up to $0.50 it is nice that they double coupons everyday.

Here is a picture of what I got and the breakdown:

    P3240283

    Strawberries - $1.88

    Oscar Mayer Bacon - $2.24

    (2) Atheno Hummus - $1 each

    1.87 lb Asparagus - $3.72

    (2) 5-lb bags of Gold Medal All-Purpose Flour - $0.74 each

    Fiber One Bars - $0.89

Nature Valley Granola Nut Clusters - $0.29

    (8) Annie’s Macaroni and Cheese - $0.50 each

    (2) Campbell’s Golden Mushroom Soup - $1 each

    Betty Crocker Frosting – FREE

    (2) Disney Gummie Vitamins - $2.49 each

Snicker’s Almond Bar (I ate it before the picture) - $0.50

    Chocolate Chex Mix – FREE

    Bag Credit – (-$0.10)

Shelf Price (before sales, coupons, bag credits, or tax): $75.84

Final Price (after sales, coupons, bag credits, before tax): $23.88

    Total Savings: $51.96 (68%)

Wednesday Shopping Trip – Ukrop’s Deals

I impressed several people today when they saw my bag of groceries and my final total – even the courtesy clerk said she got all of this for only $2?!?!

I had wanted to get some of the Dole Mandarin Oranges that are on a multi-week sale for $1 each and use the $0.55/2 coupon from the 3/21 SS, unfortunately I wasn’t the only one who knew about the deal and the shelf was completely cleared.  I checked to see if there were more in the back and they were out.  I may swing by another store when we go out to church tonight to pick up a few cans.

Here is the picture of my purchases and the breakdown of my trip:

    P3240284

    (2) Dole Pineapple - $0.45 each

    (4) Reese’s Dark Peanut Butter Cups – (-$0.92) - Money Maker!

    Ukrop’s Coupon Match-ups and Deals - March 22-27, 2010

    ukropslogo

I found some really good deals this week at Ukrop’s.  As the mother of two little ones I was super excited this morning when we went to the store and found out that we can get FREE Lunchables this week!  You can also get free Reese’s Dark Peanut Butter Cups this week.  I found several unadvertised deals in addition to the advertised sale items.  If you haven’t had a chance to check out this week’s ad click here for an on-line version.

Ukrop’s has the Barilla pasta on sale this week for $0.88 each (with a SPOT coupon).  I realized that we did not get coupons for Barilla recently in any of the inserts in the Richmond, VA area; but there are some coupons available for sale on ebay.  (For the record you are not paying for the coupons themselves, but for the time and services of the person providing the coupons.)  All of the Barilla are on sale with the exception of the pasta shells and the lasagna noodles.  The Piccolini and the Whole Grain which have coupons available are included in the sale.

There are several unadvertised deals I found today – these are in addition to the ones that I mentioned about 2 weeks ago in this post.  Here is a list of the new ones I found today.

    • Dole Pineapple (20 oz), Tropical Fruit (15.25 oz), and Mandarin Oranges (15 oz) are all on sale for $1 each (I didn’t write down when the multi-week deal ends.)  Combine this with $0.55/2 cans that was in the 3/21 SS insert and double coupon Wednesday for some inexpensive canned fruit.  (2 cans for $0.90 or $0.45 each!)
    • Food Club Instant Pudding (3.5 oz) are on sale for $0.49 each (thru 4/17)
    • Carnation Evaporated Milk (12 oz) are on sale for $0.99 each (thru 4/3) this can be combined with the $0.50/2 cans that was in the 3/21 RP insert and double coupon Wednesday.  You can get 2 cans of evaporated milk for $0.98!
    • Nestle Morsels (10-12 oz bags) are also on a multi-week sale (thru 4/3).  There was a coupon for $1/2 bags in the 3/21 RP insert.  That means you can get 2 bags of chocolate chips for $3!
    • The Boxes of Rice Select brand Rice are on sale for $2.59.  There is a $2 off any one Rice Select item in the Mambo Sprouts booklet (exp 3/31) making it only $0.59!  (My co-worker Hollis told me about this deal.)

There are some really good deals this week without coupons, but I have only listed the items that are on sale and have a coupon match-up available.  I have highlighted the coupons that will double on Wednesday in red

    Guidelines for Ukrop’s coupon policy:

    • Ukrop’s will double manufacturer coupons up to $0.99 on Wednesdays only.
    • Ukrop’s will not double more than 5 like coupons per transaction.
    • Ukrop’s does accept internet printable (IP) coupons up to a face value of $2.  They do not accept IP coupons for a free item.  This includes buy 1 get 1 free.

    I am working on this week's Ukrop's match-ups...

I knew this week was going to start off crazy, because last week ended crazy.  I was at a women's conference at my church Friday night and Saturday until ~3PM.  Then I had to go shopping for a retirement reception at our church Sunday night.  This couple was retiring after 40 years as missionaires in Europe.  I had planned for about 250 people to attend and was given a very limited budget so I was constantly crunching numbers to make it all work.  The reception went well, but after being on my feet and running around for most of the day (and add in 18 weeks pregnant) I was beyond exhausted on Monday.  Thank goodness my girls were good and we were able to have a low-key stay at home day to wind-down yesterday.  I am hoping for another day of good kids and I should have the match-ups completed by naptime.  Thanks for being patient with me.

    Friday = Deal Day!!!

I went to Ukrop’s this morning to check out if the value-packs of chicken that are on sale for $1.88/lb were also 50% off today for the Friday one day deal.  Unfortunately they weren’t.  I was walking out of the store when one of the customer service reps told me to go check out the baby aisle because it had just been marked down.  That led me on a fun scavenger hunt of markdowns throughout the store.  I spent $34.59 (before tax) and saved $90.20!

We really didn’t need many groceries this week and my household supplies were starting to get low so when I saw the deals at Kroger this week for things like Lysol cleaners and Hefty zip-top bags I had to go.  While we were in the store Natalie saw the Dan-o-nino yogurt and wanted me to pick her up some.  I told her that I didn’t bring any coupons for it and that I would get her some later.  Well, at the check-out I got a coupon for $1 off Dan-o-nini yogurt so we went back and picked that up.  My total Kroger trip was $19.25 (before tax) and I saved $64.87!

I also hit Walgreens today.  I had to ring up my purchases in several transactions because of Register Rewards (RR).  While I was in the store I noticed a package of Pampers Swaddlers size 1 on clearance for $2.74!  I didn’t have any of my extra coupons with me, but I thought this was such a great deal that I ran home to get my $2 off Pampers coupon from the 3/14 RP insert so that I could get a pack of diapers for $0.74 (before tax).  Overall I spent $0.36 (before tax) at Walgreens today.  I started off with $10 in RR to use.  I ran into a problem with a $3 RR that was suppose to print.  The machine jammed when it was printing.  The cashier realized it and called over the manager.  Instead of re-ringing and voiding the transaction like I have seen them do in the past he just offered to give me a $3 refund.  The way he rang it in it actually gave me $3.15 back.  He apologized for the problem.  I was more than happy to have real cash as opposed to a RR I have to remember to use in the next two weeks.  I left with $8 in RR for future purchases.
