MARTIN’S Top Deals for the Week of March 6th

There are some great deals this week at MARTIN’S thanks to all of the promotions they are running in this week’s sales flyer.  Don’t forget about the Spend $100 on frozen foods get $25 off a future order promotion that is running through March 27th.  It looks like you can buy the items in  the Ice Cream Promotion, Kellogg’s Breakfast Promotion, or Mrs. Paul’s Promotion towards your $100 in frozen foods.  (Details below) What a great way to save even more money!

Check back on Thursdays for a weekly series I started called “Meal Planning with the MARTIN’S Ad”.

Here are what I consider to be the top deals this week at MARTIN’S.  I verify the coupons that I mention with what I receive in my local paper, the Richmond Times-Dispatch (RTD).  Coupons are regional so you may not have the exact same coupon or the same face value.  Remember what I consider to be a good deal and what you consider to be a good deal may differ.  Please feel free to leave me a comment with any deals that you find.

I am reposting a comment that Brenda left me Sunday on the post I wrote Saturday night:

A good reason to be sure to get the Martin's circular from today's NEWSPAPER and NOT in the store: at least in my area, there is a coupon at the top of the front page that awards you 500 gas points for a $50 purchase!

I stopped in Martin's this afternoon and got $76.25 worth of food for only $56.53 plus got a $4 off OYNO Catalina (for buying 4 cartons of Edy's ice cream).

Also, for purchasing 5 packages of Morningstar Farms products (there are other qualifying items as well) I got a free carton of eggs and a free package of English muffins. They were supposed to be Giant brand, but my store was out and so they substituted with THOMAS'!

My purchase included 6 12pk boxes of Hunt's pudding, earning me an additional 200 gas points (my kids are thrilled!), making my total gas points for this purchase 700, which on our 30 gallon gas tank is worth $21.

Also Ann For the Mrs Pauls look for all the Mrs. Pauls fish that are 50% OFF. There is deal running through 4/23: Buy 1 Mrs Pauls get 1 Steamfresh vegetable free 8-16 oz. Of course get the bigger bag. The 50% sale ends sat and but buy 1 fish get 1 vegetable free goes till 4/23. The free vegetables even count towards your points.

Basically Buy 6 fish sticks and 6 16oz. bags of vegetables. Use (2) $1.00/3 Birdseye coupon from 3/6 RP x4/30

Pay and receive 2 OYNO Mrs. Pauls Free Item up to $7.49.

I wrote about it on my richmond blog at

Ann I was wondering since I haven't done tons of Martin's shopping if the Smartsource and IP's count as like coupons? I'm thinking they would be different and could double on the same shopping order. Have you done this successfully? Thanks.

Praznow thanks for the info and the link. I had read that earlier this afternoon but didn't have a chance to write a post about it. It sounds like the deal will roll into other deals.

Judi - I have used IP coupons and coupons from the newspaper or magazines for the same item and had them both double. I am not positive as to whether or not I have used IP's from & in the same transaction for the same item. I think the bottome line as to whether or not they will both double is to check the bar code (or the digits under the bar code). That is how the register knows if the coupons are the same or not. If the bar code matches they probably won't both double. I have read on HCW that people have successfully used "like" coupons in seperate tranactions on the same day and had boh coupons double. I haven't tested it recently.
