My first batch of Christmas cookies for 2009...
My Assistant - she helped to flatten the cookies after I rolled them into balls.
Our finished product:
Sugar cookies dipped in white candy coating and sprinkled with crushed candy canes.
Yummy!

Those look beautiful! Did you crush the candy canes yourself? Your little helper is adorable! :)
Thanks! Yes I did crush the candy canes - with some help from my helper. It was a bit of trial and error. I first tried crushing them in a sandwich bag with a small rolling pin. The candy edges were sharp and started to tear the bag. I ended up placing the pieces in a mortar and pestle and grinding them to the size that I wanted.
Look so yummy! I baked some chocolate cookies when I was in Calgary, Canada. My housemother showed me how to do it and I made the cookies for my classmates of the language institute. I miss the moment and the delicious smell of the cookies like yours. :)
